Southeast Missouri Redhawks Basketball Preseason Outlook
Southeast Missouri Women's Basketball has been projected to finish ninth in the Ohio Valley Conference's 2025-26 Preseason Poll, as revealed during media day. The Redhawks secured 51 points in the voting, placing them ahead of Morehead State and SIUE, each with 33 points. Head Coach Briley Palmer emphasized that rankings don't dictate their journey; hard work and competition do. She expressed confidence in her team, highlighting their chosen motto for the season, #FindAWay, which reflects their determination to earn respect through their performance.
Two players, Lexi McCully and Ainaya Williams, were named to the OVC Watch List. McCully, a graduate student guard, was the team?s top scorer last season, averaging 11.2 points per game, while Williams, a sophomore center, led in rebounds and blocks. The team is set to kick off their season against Illinois on November 4, 2025. The top three teams in the conference are predicted to be Lindenwood, Tennessee Tech, and Western Illinois.
